Who Remembers High Heel Poker At The Rio All-Suites Hotel, 2010!
It wasn't so long ago that the High Heels Poker Tour (HHTP), organised their inaugural hospitality suite especially devoted to women's Poker specifically towards the Ladies Week of the WSOP 2010 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Suites, Las Vegas.
Along with female focused Poker companies the HHTP catered for all kinds of women during this high energy 3 day period at the Rio All-Suites Hotel, especially in Brasila 5, which was the hive of activity.
It was here that women came to relax and enjoy refreshments as they interacted with HHPTA Poker Pros, and got to meet with organisations and corporations some of which owned by women, ready to get their slice of the pie out of this unique marketing opportunity, one that hopefully would prosper for years!
At the time, being the fastest growing Poker demographic, sweeping all else aside, the ladies were ready to step up to the plate. They were ready now en masse to be seen, heard, and respected in the Poker community and along with their very own Academy had their own 2 HHPT tournaments for the females during Ladies Week, venue: The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, on June 10, 2010 and June 12, 2010.
The HHPT's 2010 Spring schedule leading up to the Vegas Extravaganza, was booked with events in Tampa, Fla in April, Turning Stone, NY, & Harrah's New Orleans in May 2010. Everything was building rapidly including close affiliates. Corporate Partners PokerStars, USA Card Inc. and many many others, all were excited about future prospects.
It boggles the mind, to think what exactly went wrong when looking back to these heady days at the Rio All-Suites Hotel, how could something be growing exponentially one minute only for a few years later to hit the skids. A good question indeed, and perhaps something to put under the microscope in the not too distant future. No doubt there is a story behind the story, there usually is.
